We were all born happy. Think about that for a moment. When you were born, did you have any negative beliefs or experiences that kept you from being happy. Of course not. We were born in a happy state. Happiness doesn’t come from any outside source. It comes from within. It doesn’t exist in the past or the future. It exists now. In order to be happy there are 3 realizations you must understand:
1 – Life Is Fleeting – it is passing us by, moment to moment. Time doesn’t stand still, and is ruthlessly passing us by. When you understand that we can’t live in the past or the future, we must live in the present, or in the moment, this is a big step to happiness.
2 – You are complete as you are and worthy of happiness – in order to be in the moment and enjoy life as it exists now, we must let go of the feelings or beliefs that disempower you. Let go of the past disappointments, failures, or bad relationships. You are complete as you are right now.
3 – You are you own sanctuary – happiness lies within you and within you only. If you are dependent on outside people or sources to make you happy, or material possessions to make you happy, you will never be happy. Outside sources are simply a by-product of your happiness. You need nothing from the outside to make you happy.
In order to be happy, you must let go of your fears. Think about this for a minute. What is the opposite of fear? It is simply love. If you are fearful, you are not in a state of love. When you are full of love, fear subsides. Love is a feeling, a power source, an energy. When you are in a state of resourcefulness, you are full of love. You are empowered. With this energy source called love, you are able to create.
Do you remember your first love relationship? How did you feel? Did you feel resourceful and able to create? Did you feel empowered?
Love is the common thread that connects all things. Love never fails. Your happiness is connected with a state of resourcefulness or a state of love where all things originate. Your happiness is not connected to worldly possessions or things that may happen in the future. Love is now. Love is lack of fear. To love is to let go of the past. When you let go of the things you don’t want in your life this will lead you to the things you do want.
Happiness is whatever’s happening right now. Just remember that the past has already happened. If you got upset today at the office or at work, don’t bring that to the dinner table with your family. The past has already happened. If you are thinking about how you are gonna fix tomorrow whatever upset you today, you are not living in the moment. Sure we learn from experiences. But we must learn to live in the moment. Living in the moment means letting go of the past and not living in the future.
The secret to happiness is love. As the Bible tells us, pursue love. Live in the moment, let go of your fears and past failures and bad experiences and pursue love.
